I am applying for approval for the first time. What is the minimum level I can use?
Use the original series (00 series) for your special warning lamp. For a new application, prepare the lamp to Supplement 13, in force since 4 June 2026.
- For special warning lamps in categories T, HT and X; vehicle use restrictions also depend on national rules.
Identify whether the lamp is category T, HT or X and which colours it emits.
What is the latest level, and until when can I use it?
The latest level is the 00 series · Supplement 13. This supplement sets no new expiry date for existing approvals. It updates the permitted colours, approval marks and mounting information.

Must I update my existing approval or test report?
Supplement 13 does not require every existing approval to be replaced. Earlier approvals and extensions remain subject to the conditions in paragraphs 13.3 and 13.4. A test report alone is not type approval.

Before changing the lamp, agree with your approval authority whether the change requires an approval extension or a new approval.
